It’s my birthday and my wife is taking me on a getaway – without children. So enough wasting time here.

Week 5 educated guesses:

Clemson @ Boston College: Used to be a trouble game for Tigers, but this should help get over FSU disappointment. TIGERS 35, Eagles 17.

South Carolina@ Kentucky: Trap game? No way. Kentucky just isn’t good enough to be a real threat. GAMECOCKS 31, Wildcats 3.

Tennessee@ Georgia: Trap game? This could be, but Dogs are looking better every week and handling weaklings. BULLDOGS 34, Volunteers 20.

Middle Tennessee @ Georgia Tech: Another get well game after another crushing conference giveaway. YELLOW JACKETS 42, Blue Raiders 21.

Arkansas @ Texas A&M: The former Petrinos are in free fall. First SEC win for Aggies. AGGIES 31, Razorbacks 20.

N.C. State @ Miami: At long last, the ACC is leaning toward the Sunshine State. HURRICANES 24, Wolfpack 14.

Ohio State @ Michigan State: Great Big Ten showdown. Kind of like a great Nationwide Tour playoff. SPARTANS 24, Buckeyes 20.

Texas @ Oklahoma State: Defense? What defense?. LONGHORNS 49, Cowboys 42.

Baylor @ West Virginia: Would would have ever dreamed this would be a key Big 12 matchup. MOUNTAINEERS 38, Bears 35.

Samford @ Georgia Southern: It’s becoming a cardiac kind of season in Statesboro. BULLDOGS 27, Eagles 24.

Georgia State @ William & Mary: Battle of CAA winless teams. I’ll take Laycock over Curry. TRIBE 28, Panthers 13.

BONUS PICK: Europe @ United States: Americans stars have homefield advantage in Ryder Cup, but Europe has Olazabal and the spirit of Seve on their side. AMERICANS 14.5, Euros 13.5.

Winners: Georgia, Florida State, Kansas State, Oregon, Boise State, Georgia Southern, Richmond

Losers: Missouri, Georgia Tech, UCLA, Michigan

YEAR TO DATE: 33-11 (75.0)

2011 record: 115-51 (.693)

2010 record: 97-49 (.664)
